BioGenius Challenge

I had the great pleasure to MC the announcement of the winners of the BioGENEius Challenge at a function at Frasers in Kings Park in early March. I always look forward to this gig as it showcases the depth of real talent we have in our WA schools.

On this occasions, two young women from Shenton College were chosen to represent WA to compete against finalists from the USA and Canada in the BioGENEius Challenge held in the USA, in conjunction with the BIO International Conference.

Emily Phillimore and Frances Harvey will carry the hopes of WA with them to the BIO International conference in May.

A highlight for me was getting to meet Robin Warren (Pictured left with yours truly) who together with Barry Marshall was awarded a Nobel prize for the discovery of the bacterium heliobacter pylori in 2005. Marg Glenn took the pic.
